*Calling All Comrades!*
The Center needs you! We are facing a rent hike and are asking our comrades
and friends to help keep our space open and growing. We hope you will
considering contributing what you can to our campaign here: Help The Center
For Marxist Education
<http://www.generosity.com/fundraisers/help-the-center-for-marxist-education>

We have operated for more than four decades on a voluntary basis as one of
the few openly Marxist-oriented spaces in Greater Boston. Much more that
just a bookstore, the Center has a lending library and is available as a
meeting space for local groups and organizations. In addition to regular
lectures and discussions we also host film showings, poetry readings, and
have had visitors speak from around the world.

Our fundraising goal will help offset this rent increase ensuring the
Center does not fall to the weight of skyrocketing rent prices in
Cambridge. If you would like to send a physical check our address is:

PO Box 390459
Cambridge, MA 02139

The Center for Marxist Education Volunteers

*Upcoming Events:*

*Changes in the Condition and Consciousness of Migrant Workers in China*
Thursday, March 17th 7-9pm
One ofthe greatest waves of migration in human history was of hundreds of
millions moving from farms to factories in China over the past three
decades. Today, many of these workers are living in cities, but often
facing layoffs as mounting economic problems in capitalist countries dry up
exports. Our speaker, Luo Xiaoping of the Academy of Marxism in Beijing,
has long studied migrant workers. She is a good friend of the Center,
having spent last year in Boston, and spoke at the Center most recently in
August 2015.

*Meditations on Frantz Fanon's Wretched of the Earth - A Discussion*
Saturday, March 19th 5:00pm
James Yaki Sayles' book "Meditations on Frantz Fanon's Wretched of the
Earth" is an application of the concepts laid out in Frantz Fanon's work on
colonialism in the modern day Algeria, with regards to the struggle for
national liberation among the colonized people in the "united states." He
addresses the strategic considerations of creating a revolutionary national
consciousness among the colonized people, and the struggle within the heart
of the empire. This book both contemporary and necessary for any communist
who wishes to gain a better understanding of the colonial situation in
North America today, though he can explain it for himself:
"This exercise is about more than our desire to read and understand
[Wretched of the Earth] (as if it were about some abstract world, and not
our own); it's about more than our need to understand (the failures of) the
anti-colonial struggles on the African continent. This exercise is also
about us, and about some of the things that We need to understand and to
change in ourselves and our world."

*Red History Lecture Series*
*The Final Aim is Nothing: The Politics of Revisionism and Anti-revisionism*
Saturday, April 2nd 3-5pm
Communist historian Doug Enaa Greene will lecture on the revisionist
controversy within the German Social Democratic Party. Revisionists claim
to update Marxism, but in reality renounce all pretense to revolutionary
ends. Yet claims of Marxist orthodoxy have often been inadequte in
challenging revisionism. Rather, true anti-revisonism is a revolutionary
rupture with previous forms of orthodox and reformism. The effects of the
revisionist controversy has rippled through Marxist movements since that
time
