Greetings from Witness for Peace,

We are happy to announce that Witness for Peace New England, with the
support of the National office, has been rejuvenating our regional
organizing and programming efforts! Many of you have partnered with us
for decades and have remained involved over the past few years, even as
our regional presence has been very limited. Thank you for your
commitment and involvement- we’re eager to work together in rebuilding
the WFP New England region! Working to change unjust US policies and
accompanying struggles for justice is going to take all of us, and we
are thankful for your dedication.

We would like to invite you to join us for a half-day,
participation-rich retreat to discuss Witness for Peace New England’s
<https://www.facebook.com/events/1896313200623103>regional organizing,
programming and long-term planning strategies.

Come to this meeting and stay for the monthly Pena at Encuentro 5
starting at 7 PM
see http://encuentro5.org/home/

encuentro5is located next to the Orpheum Theater in downtown Boston,
across from the Park St. Red Line T station situated on the Boston
Common. This is a comfortable, spacious and affordable activist and
community space that has a long history of hosting Latin America
solidarity groups in the Boston area. While we recommend public transit,
we understand that many folks will be coming out of town, so we
recommend the following parking options, given that this is a downtown
location.

  *

Street metered and handicapped parking: given the weekends in Boston
are quite empty (as many travel down to the Cape, the Berkshire and
elsewhere), it’s possible that there will be available street
parking near the venue on nearby Tremont and Boylston streets.

  *

Boston Common parking garage: daily rates are a bit high, but it’s
very close to the venue and underground, so your car will be safe
    and shaded.

  *

The last stop on the Red Line in Cambridge, Alewife, offers $7 day
parking for commuters who leave their cars at the T station parking
lot. Leave your car there for the day and take the Red Line Inbound
until the Park St. stop, which will leave you right outside the venue!

We are extremely exciting about these new opportunities to get involved
in the struggles for justice in Latin America, and look forward to
inviting old and new faces into our renewed regional efforts at
solidarity and organizing with our partners in Latin America.

Any questions, comments or concerns, or for more information regarding
parking and transportation, please reach out to Lee Schlenker, Cuba
International Team member, at wfpcuba at gmail.com
<mailto:wfpcuba at gmail.com>, and Elise Roberts, Witness for Peace
National Coordinator, at elise at witnessforpeace.org

We hope to see you on the 12th!

In solidarity and gratitude,
