Dear Supporters of Immigrant Rights,
I have been alerted that ICE is right now loading immigrant workers into
vans from a plant in New Bedford, Mass. that produces backpacksand
bullet-proof vests. Estimates on the number of arrests range from
400-1,800. There is too much confusion on the ground for a clearer picture.
By all accounts, this is another major workplace raid, on the scale of
the Swift & Co. meatpacking raids of December.
To lend support, please contact Adriana Lafaille of the Massachusetts
Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, 617-350-5480 x 216 or
alafaille at miracoalition.org <mailto:alafaille at miracoalition.org>. There
is an urgent need for help, including legal aid.
Please spread the word!
