The Stop the Wars Coalition is organizing a strategy session on the antiwar
movement. The half-day event, running from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, July 14, 2007, at encuentro 5 in Chinatown, draws together
different strands of the movement over 3 90 minute sessions:
(1) Existing Conditions - Reflecting on the war machine and its bases
(2) What is to done? - What can we do to the stop the war?
(3) The Road Ahead: Brainstorm and Discussion
The first 2 90-minute sessions feature panel presentations (lasting 30
minutes) followed by open discussion. Panelists include organizers from Mass
Peace Action, Troops Out Now Coalition, Massachusetts Global Action, United
for Justice with Peace, Code Pink and other local organizations. The final
90 minute session is an open ended discussion that will feature an active
facilitator to keep the conversation moving forward.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Other events that the Stop the Wars Coalition are working include a concert
and fundraiser--Assembling Peace V--on Friday, July 13, 2007, and later in
Summer, a demonstration in Kennebunkport, ME on August 25, 2007, during
