    U.S. HANDS OFF IRAN!

-- Why Working People Should Oppose Sanctions and U.S. Military Threats Against Iran
-- What Is the Road Forward for Working People in Iran

Speaker: Cindy Jaquith
staff writer for the Militant newspaper

Jaquith covered the 1979 revolution that overthrew the U.S.-backed Shah of Iran and also the occupation of the U.S. embassy by Iranian students later that year. She traveled to Iran shortly after the overthrow of the Shah to provide eyewitness accounts for the Militant newspaper on the unfolding events.
More recently she has participated as part of teams of volunteers staffing the Pathfinder Press London booths at international book fairs in Tehran.

Washington has enacted new sanctions against Iran. The U.S. rulers are continuing a campaign to pressure other countries to take action against Iran for its nuclear program, to isolate Iran politically, and to justify further moves as part of its "war on terror."
Opponents of the U.S. war drive need to expose the rulers' false claim to be for democracy in Iran. Sanctions and military intervention by Washington are the last thing the Iranian toilers need.
Come to a discussion of the fight of Middle East toilers against imperialist oppression and class exploitation and why working people everywhere have a stake in defending Iran’s right to be free of imperialist threats.
