Amy, can you help spread the word? Hope you can be there...NancyOn January 11, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, the ACLU of Massachusetts will be holding a solemn procession and vigil in downtown Boston demanding the closure of Guantánamo prison.

I know some of you would prefer an evening event. But after weighing variables such as media availability and the relative lack of evening foot traffic in the winter, we decided a lunch-time event would be best.

My hope is that many of you will wear our orange jump suits over warm clothes or carry them in the procession. We also have two coffins and signs here at the ACLU of Massachusetts office. I hope to locate a big drum - its beat can lead us in a slow march through Boston's streets to the JKF Building and back.

Date: Friday, January 11 - the National Day of Action to Close Guantánamo
Time: assemble at the ACLU of Massachusetts, 12:15 PM. Start procession at 12:30 PM. Reach JFK Building by 1 PM. Then march in procession back to the ACLU office.

The ACLU of Massachusetts is located at 211 Congress Street, corner of Congress and High Streets, on the third floor. It is adjacent to the large Bank of American headquarters with a plaza and flagpoles in front. It is close to South Station and Post Office Square.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO COME - AND DO HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

Thanks,

Nancy Murray
