Annual Ethel & Julius Rosenberg Commemoration
Atty. ROBERT MEEROPOL
"McCarthy-Era Lessons for Bush's America"
w/ music by Janet Feld
at Community Church of Boston
565 Boylston St. (Copley Square)
Rob Meeropol was six years old when his parents, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg,
were sent to the electric chair 54 years ago, executed by the U.S.
government after one of the most hotly debated trials in American history.
In the wake of 9/11 and the war with Iraq, "our" Homeland Security and USA
PATRIOT Acts have given government unprecedented powers to investigate
citizens' lives in the name of preventing terrorism. Rob--who is also an
activist, author & executive director of the Rosenberg Fund for
Children--will discuss his parents' case and the many dangerous parallels
between 1953 and post-9/11 America.
