Announcing a new event for: Bostonians for the Overthrow of King George! 

What: Impeachment Valentine Card-Writing Party with Code Pink 

When: Saturday, February 9, 4:00 PM 

Where: The Democracy Center (45 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge, MA - near Harvard Sq.) 

Who should come: Anyone (and EVERYONE) who believes Bush & Cheney must be investigated and held accountable for their many crimes & abuses of power! If you care about upholding the rule of law and can sign your name on a postcard, then you should come to this event! 

Why: We're getting very close to the start of impeachment hearings against Cheney in the House Judiciary Cmte. Closer than ever before! Now is the time to act. Sending letters to Congress is right now the best thing to do to get the investigations going! 

Event Description: 

We having an IMPEACHMENT LETTER-WRITING PARTY with Code Pink at the Democracry Center in Cambridge, MA on Sat. Feb. 9th. We're calling it:  Send a Valentine to Congress with Code Pink! 

At last count, there are at least 9 members of the House Judiciary Committee (out of 39 total), plus several other members of Congress, who are now openly calling for impeachment investigations to begin immediately against Vice Pres. Dick Cheney! 

With Rep. Robert Wexler, Dennis Kucinich and other key members of Congress this past month calling for impeachment investigations to begin in Congress, we are now closer to our goal than ever before! So now, more than ever, we need to keep the pressure on Congress to act. The tipping point is in sight! We just need a few more votes, in order to get a formal Congressional inquiry started. So, come help us push it over the top! 

It will take, we are told, about 100 letters received per HJC member before most of them start to see this as something they need to take a stand on. Our goal is to send at least 100 pre-printed pink postcards to every member of the House Judiciary Committee (~4000 postcards total). So, we need your help. Everyone must participate this month if we are going to be successful. We need as many people as possible to come to this event & commit to sending additional letters and making calls this month), if we are going to make a significant impact on Capitol Hill. 

Many more people across the country are now making calls and writing letters to Congress due to all the new impeachment momentum recently by the online petition at the website: WexlerWantsHearings.com. 

We thought it would be most effective (as well as more fun), if we picked one day this month to invite everyone to get together to make a sort of letter-writing assembly line. So, we got together with Code Pink and decided to hold our letter-writing party on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 9th starting at 4pm at the Democracy Center (near Harvard Square - see link for directions). We're holding the event on Feb. 9th in order to make sure that all the members in Congress receive their pink pro-impeachment valentine cards in time for Valentine's Day. 

Refreshments will be provided. In addition, Code Pink will also be screening a really great HBO film called: "Iron-Jawed Angels". (I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.) 

Come join us for this important action!
