[act-ma] Valentine's Day Action for MA Public Higher Education (this Thursday, 2/14, 11 a.m.)

Hi all,

Massachusetts Students Uniting (MSU) and the Public Higher Education 
Network of Massachusetts (PHENOM) request that any available friends of 
public higher education join us at the State House this Thursday for an 
important action day.

The day's two events aim at pressuring state legislators and Governor 
Patrick to close the current funding gap in Massachusetts public higher 
education, increase need-based student aid, and pass the Capital Bonds 
Bill that will put much more money for new buildings (and building 
repairs) into the system--freeing up money to lower the high tuition and 
fees that are pricing more and more Massachusetts students out of a 
college education.

Here's the schedule:
11 a.m.:         MSU Study-In (State House location TBA, just show up at 
the General Hooker entrance on Beacon St.)
1 p.m.:           PHENOM Lobby Day (Grand Staircase)

Anyone who can help out, especially anyone with any connection to 
Massachusetts public higher education (student, staff, faculty, alumni, 
family members of previous groups), is encouraged to come over. Or

information on how you can help the effort out from the comfort of your 
own office or home on Thursday.
