Join Massachusetts Global Action and Boston DSA in welcoming Michael
Schippani to the "Labor Leads Conversations" hosted at encuentro 5.

The Labor Leads Conversations comes at a critical time: labor and
society as a whole confront economic, environmental, and energy
crises. Solutions equal to the crises are by no means obvious. The
Conversations series ask, "What would a mobilized and politically
activated, labor movement look like in the US?  How could it get
there? What would it do?" It draws on labor thinkers and affords them
an opportunity to think aloud.

About Michael:
A leading researcher who worked for the United Auto Workers, Michael
Schippani is also a long-time labor organizer and thinker about
economics and workers rights. He serves on a Michigan Workforce
Development Board. Michael is also connected to the labor movement in
Massachusetts having worked with textile workers and advised former
Governor Dukakis. He also participated in the drafting of the
"Corporate Democracy Act" that sought to rein in and democratize
corporations before the rise of Reaganism and the restructuring of
corporate power.
The event features a short introduction, followed by Michael's
presentation and then an extended discussion period. An informal, wine
& cheese-style reception follows.
