Demand Protections for Low-Income Tenants

With all the talk about saving Wall Street, who will save affordable housing?

On October 18, 2008 join the Mass Alliance of HUD Tenants and allies across Boston to deliver a Save Our Home Platform as one of several actions around the US for International Housing Rights Day.

The housing crisis isn't just a homeowner or bank industry problem. Three million families in HUD subsidized apartments face displacement if Congress does not fully fund Section 8 and Public Housing.

Last week, the National Alliance of HUD Tenants (NAHT) averted funding cutoffs for Section 8 and won tenant protections in the Wall Street Bailout Bill. But chronic budget shortfalls still threaten millions of families.

In June, the Obama campaign met with NAHT and responded to the Platform, but the Republican National Committee refused to accept it and slammed the door on tenants. On October 18th, we will try again at the McCain Headquarters in downtown crossing, Boston.

JOIN US TO MAKE TENANTS' VOICES HEARD in this election!

Fully Fund Section 8 and Public Housing!
End predatory investments in affordable housing!
Pass National Right to Purchase bill!
Ratify the Right to Housing Treaty!
