A participant at a recent event with Josh
remarked...

“If
you're feeling burnt out and war weary,

come listen
to these stories.

It energized me!”

Josh
Stieber is a combat veteran who became a conscientious objector after
being
part of the recent "surge" in Iraq. To spread his message of
cooperation and understanding instead of military occupation, Josh
began a
peace walk that departed from Washington, D.C. on Memorial Day. He is
now
traveling across the country -- by foot, bike, and bus -- to speak with
communities
everywhere about the reality of the war, his experience as a soldier,
and the
responsibilities we all have to those who are affected by the U.S.
occupations
of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Please
join us on Tuesday, June 30th, to welcome Josh as he comes to Cambridge
and to
hear his stories about his experience of war and his journey of peace.
His talk
promises to take us beyond the sound-bites about the wars and the
surge, to
engage us in a timely, thoughtful conversation about issues that are
increasingly overlooked in the media.

Josh's journey so far in
this news article and on his blog.

Refreshments
and an informal reception will be from 6:00 to 6:30, and the
presentation and
discussion with Josh will begin at 6:30. The event is free and open to
the
public -- all are welcome. RSVPs
are appreciated, but not required, and can be made by emailing members at masspeaceaction.org
or calling
617.354.2169.

Co-Sponsored by AFSC, Mass Peace Action, Mass Military Families Speak
Out, United for Justice with Peace, and Y-WILPF.

We hope to see you there!
