Case Study of Politics and Media”*


 *Rod Stoneman* is the Director of the Huston School of Film & Digital
Media, *National University of Ireland in Galway*. He previously served as
Chief Executive of *Bord Scannán na hÉireann / The Irish Film Board* and as
Deputy Commissioning Editor of the Independent Film and Video Department at
Channel 4. He has produced several independent films, among them, *“Bloody
Sunday”* (2002), *“The Last September”* (2000) and* “Southpaw”* (2000)


 *The Revolution Will Not Be Televised* is a powerful and dramatic film
about the charismatic and controversial Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. It
charts the seven month run-up to the violent attempt to overthrow him in
April 2002 and provides an eyewitness account of the coup d' état and the
extraordinary return to power some 48 hours later. Unique footage is
assembled in this electrifying documentary, that illuminates contemporary
politics in Latin America.
