Message from John Bell, Honk! Festival organizer [and apologies to those who
have received this information from multiple sources.] Please spread the
word!

Dear Friends of Bread and Puppet,

Here is some news about upcoming Bread and Puppet
<http://www.breadandpuppet.org> -related events in the Boston area:

1. Bread and Puppet will once more be participating in the Honk! Festival
<http://www.honkfest.org> at Davis Square this October 9-11. We are looking
for 50 to 100 volunteers who could help Bread and Puppet perform puppets,
masks, banners, boats, and other elements in its contingent of the Honk
Parade on Sunday, October 11. To help Bread and Puppet in the parade,
please email John Bell <mailto:parade at honkfest.org> and let him know you
can come. We will meet Sunday morning, October 11 at 11 a.m. in the parking
lot next to Saco's Bowl Haven, off Davis Square in Somerville. The Bread
and Puppet company will let you know how you can help. The parade starts at
noon, and travels to Harvard Square, where it will end around 1 p.m. Please
wear white clothes!
We hope you can join us!

2. Following the success of last year's Honk Pick-Up Band, Bread and Puppet
bandleader Ron Kelley will lead another version of the Pick-Up Band in the
Honk Parade. Unaffiliated musicians are invited to join this group, and
rehearse during a one-hour period on Saturday afternoon in Davis Square,
time and location TBA. Check the Honk website <http://www.honkfest.org>
for further information.

3. WEDNESDAY NIGHT SPAGHETTI is the first in a new series hosted by sprout
<http://thesprouts.org/> that seeks to bring people together around food,
music and performance, in the tradition of dinners hosted by NYC-based
theater company Great Small Works <http://www.greatsmallworks.org> (see
poster
<http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B8aYWcmqP9C1ODQyNjUxYWEtZTQzZS00YTFlLWE
0MWUtZjMwMTQyODk4N2E1&hl=en)> ). This event will take place Wednesday,
September 16 with dinner at 7:30 and performances starting at 8, at sprout's
new space just outside Davis Square at 339R Summer St, Somerville,
Massachusetts. $10 suggested donation. The performances will include works
by John Malpede, Penelope Hillfrau, the Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure
Society Brass Band, and Peter Buchak.

Thanks for your attention!

John Bell
