You are invited to PSL Boston's Monthly Meeting:
*Honoring the 40th Anniversary of the Young Lords Party
**Lessons in Revolutionary Struggle
Featuring: Carlito Rovira, former Young Lord
*Thursday, Sept. 24th - 6:00 PM
Parker Hill Public Library
1497 Tremont St. - Roxbury Crossing/Mission Hill
40 years ago this Summer, the Young Lords Party - a defiant and
revolutionary force of Puerto Rican youth - emerged out of the concrete
circumstances faced by their people in the United States. They quickly
became, and continue to be an inspiring example for the ongoing struggle
against the vile racist and exploitative system of capitalism.

For the Puerto Rican independence movement, September 23rd is among the most
symbolic dates – El Grito de Lares historically celebrates the 1868
rebellion against slavery and Spanish colonialism and was given new
significance in 2005 when the FBI assassinated revered independence leader
and founder of Los Macheteros, Filiberto Ojeda Rios.*

Hear from PSL leader and former Young Lord Carlito Rovira who will discuss
the Puerto Rican liberation movement and how we can apply the lessons of the
Young Lords to today's pressing need for revolutionary struggle*
