Health Care Reform 2009: Politics and Paranoia

WHEN: Wednesday, October 21, 7 pm

WHERE: Encuentro 5, 33 Harrison Ave., Boston, 5th Floor

SPEAKERS

Chip Berlet: Senior Analyst at Political Research Associates, specialist in
right wing hate groups, co-author of "Right Wing Populism in America: Too
Close for Comfort"

Rash Fein: Professor of Medical Economics, Emeritus, Harvard Medical School.
A senior staff person on President Kennedy's Council of Economic Advisors,
he helped develop the initial legislation for Medicare.

Patricia Downs Berger, M.D.: co-chair of MassCare (the Massachusetts
Campaign for Single Payer Health Care).

This summer, we've seen anti-health care reform activists with hysterical
allegations of death camps, equating Obama with Hitler and Stalin. Where do
they come from, and why do they hate and fear President Obama so? What is
the current status of health care reform - is there anything left in the
bills that is good enough to support? What is an activist to do?

Free, and open to the public.
