*Dear All,

Almost exactly two months after filing a lawsuit at the Mass. Commission
Against Discrimination, Harvard IT Specialist Ravi Raj was fired on flimsy
pretexts last Thursday. Ravi made formal complaints of discrimination after
being subjected to disgusting racial slurs and having his Indian accent
mocked by his boss. These complaints fell on deaf ears as managers
concentrated on attacking Ravi's performance, even though he was the most
productive worker in his group according to management's own statistics!
After the unfair complaints about Ravi's work emerged as completely
unjustified, Ravi was fired, based on highly-questionable allegations of
petty misconduct. Shortly before the termination, Ravi's boss wrote to his
co-workers, spreading false suggestions about Ravi, and asking them to
report personal information about him to managers. Please join members of
Ravi's union, the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers, students,
and concerned community members as we expose and confront the racism that
lingers in our community.

RALLY!!
Thursday, October 29, 12 noon
Harvard's IQSS/Harvard-MIT Data Center, 1737 Cambridge St, Cambridge
