    THE GREAT RECESSION OF 2007-09 AND THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT

     Program Speakers: Dore Penn, Psy. D., Career Center Systems Manager,
                                                    Boston Private Industry Council
                                  Nina Mitra, PhD., Director of Clinical Services for Dimock Behavioral
                                                   Health, and Clinician in Private Practice

    The impact of joblessness on individuals and families is severe: what happens when a core component of 
    a person's identity as breadwinner is taken away?  Dr. Penn and Dr. Mitra will present a picture of unemployment 
    in the U.S.  and Mass. and discuss the impact of joblessness on the emotional status of affected individuals and 
    their families.
