On June 12, Common Cause has chosen to honor Andrew Card as part of
its 40th year anniversary celebration!

Noon at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.

Those with long memories will remember that Andrew Card was Chief of
Staff in the Bush administration and head of the White House Iraq
group. In those roles he helped orchestrate the immoral, illegal, and
ghastly war on Iraq. We may also remember that Card was one of two
Bush officials who visited John Ashcroft in his hospital room to press
the then Attorney General to sign the reauthorization of warrantless
wiretapping of US citizens.

One can't but ask: how is it that Common Cause decides to honor Andrew
Card? One of the founding statements of Common Cause includes the

Boston is being infiltrated by War Criminals in June! John Yoo, author
of the in famous "torture memos" will appear with Andrew Card who will
host the Federalist Shakespearean Spectacle! This event is sponsored
by the Boston Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and the
Massachusetts Bar Association.

The event will take place beginning at 5 pm at the Cutler Majestic
Theater in Boston. As most people believe Henry V is a double-edged
vehicle for talking about war.  Henry himself switches his style of
speech constantly, talking of "rape and pillage" during Harfleur but
of patriotic glory in his St. Crispin's Day speech. In any case the
France won at Agincourt by Henry V was lost again by his son Henry VI.

War is war after all and has little to do with law--except in the
breach thereof!

*Henry V can be and has been read as an anti-war allegory. People of
conscience must protest the presence of war criminals at such events.
They betray the very purpose of **having them! Bring signs with quotes
from Henry V and other Shakespearean anti-war commentary.*
