Amnesty International Local Group 133 of Somerville invites you to join us
this Friday for a vigil for Aung San Suu Kyi.
In honor of Aung San Suu Kyi’s 65th birthday, show your solidarity for her
and the people of Burma (Myanmar)!
Friday, June 18th
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Outside of the Harvard T Station on the Red Line (“the Pit”)
Cambridge, MA
Stop by to join us and enjoy some birthday cake!
We will gather in Harvard Square to call for justice and human rights in
Burma—and we need your voice!
The military rulers of Burma have jailed thousands of people in their
continuing efforts to crush all dissenting views. Most prominent of those
detained is Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and co-founder
of the pro-democracy political party. Though still detained after 14 years,
her message of hope and change remains strong.
