Hi everyone!

I want to invite you all to join us next Tuesday for a meeting devoted to
advocacy & activism as pathways to engage in the kind of change we talked
about last night. The group is still very formational, and we're hoping to
recruit people with a range of connections and interests in Haiti. The
basic principles underlying the efforts are self-determination for the
Haitian people, and channeling those essential but little-heard voices to a
public that can act in solidarity. Tuesday's meeting will be a working
meeting to come up with some concrete advocacy points and start
brainstorming on action....examples may include:

   - Solidarity protests to bring more media attention to Haitian groups'
   protests
   - Actions that target our own government and UN policies
   - Writing and awareness building on the situation in Haiti (such as
agriculture, the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission, accountability of
   aid, resettlement issues)
   - and more...

*
6pm, Tuesday Sept. 28: Harvard School of Public Health FXB Center (G-13,
basement)*

We're open to all ideas and suggestions.... If you can't make the meeting
but would like to stay in the loop, or if you have any other ideas or ways
you'd like to support, just shoot me an email!

*I included some links below with current news on the issues we talked about
last night, that aren't quite making the mainstream...if you have additions,
please share!
