WHAT: The 11th Annual Spirit of Justice Award Dinner
Since 1978, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders has been litigating,
advocating, and educating throughout New England in all areas of
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights and the rights of
people living with HIV/AIDS.
WHEN: Friday, October 29, 2010
Volunteers arrive:
At either 4PM or 5 PM and depart as early as 9:30PM and no later than
10:30PM (clean-up crew may work a bit later, but won’t work as much
during the event).
We need volunteers to work registration, greet & usher guests, as well
as set-up and clean-up.
Private Major Donor Reception 6 PM
General Reception 6:30 PM
Dinner 7:30 PM
Dancing 9:30 PM
WHERE: The Westin Copley Place Hotel Google Map
Accessible by T, Green Line and bus – travel & parking details will be
sent to volunteers that confirm attendance. Parking fees, if
requested, will be reimbursed by GLAD.
THIS YEAR’S HONOREE:
GLAD is pleased to announce that this year’s Spirit of Justice Award
will be presented to Rt. Reverend V. Gene Robinson. The Spirit of
Justice Award was created to recognize one individual whose work and
achievements reflect a profound dedication to our ideal of a just
society. Bishop Robinson was enthusiastically selected for his
leadership as the first openly gay Episcopal bishop in the nation and
for his compassion in recognizing and celebrating the worth of all
individuals in our society.
TICKETS:
Volunteers attend for free. If you’d prefer to purchase a ticket and
not volunteer, individual tickets are $200 and may be purchased online
at www.glad.org/events
ANTICIPATED ATTENDANCE:
Over 900 progressive leaders in law, business, community,
philanthropy, and politics.
