Thurs, 12/9, Public Forum, ''WikiLeaks and the ugly truth about U.S. imperialism'' 7pm, Haymarket People's Fund, 42 Seaverns Ave, JP (map)

The
latest release of thousands of classified US diplomatic messages by
WikiLeaks has once again exposed the ugly truth of US imperialism. The
documents that were most recently made public show that the US has been
actively discussing an invasion of Iran with its allies, preparing to
replace existing governments with more US-friendly regimes, and
constantly calculating which world governments are "reliable" allies in
the US' "what we say goes" game of world domination. The cables have
also revealed that governments like those of Yemen and Pakistan have
been willing partners in the US' illegal air wars in those countries,
though they have denied it.

In many ways, WikiLeaks have confirmed with damning evidence what many
people around the world already knew: that the US is the biggest bully
in the world and uses all kinds of violence and power to remain the
world's only superpower. While the Obama Administration and other
governments of the world claim that WikiLeaks is criminal for
"endangering lives of Americans" and "undermining democracy and
diplomacy," it is the US' actions that are outrageous—not the efforts of
 brave whistle-blowers to expose them.

Join us this Thursday, December 9th, for a discussion on WikiLeaks and
their significance for those of us who oppose and work to stop the US'
wars of terror. To read more about the leak's impact and aftermath,
