PUBLIC FORUM AND ORGANIZING SESSION
STOP THE ATTACKS ON BOSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS!
SATURDAY, FEB. 19 AT 1PM
33 Harrison Ave., 5th floor
MBTA: Orange & Silver lines to Chinatown
The time is now to organize and fight back against the assault on public
education.
Last year hundreds of students, parents and faculty turned out at meetings of
the Boston School Committee to protest the decision to close seventeen schools
throughout the city, mostly in Black and Latino communities.
The School Committee has alleged a $63 million budget shortfall for next year
and has proposed additional cutbacks and closures, including launching a
"student assignment" program that would cut bus transportation and further
segregate an already racially divided school district.
||
|| TAKE ACTION: Sign the petition against the school closures and the
|| re-segregation of Boston schools.

The Committee will vote on the 2012 budget on March 23.
Join us for a public forum featuring guest speakers, discussion and an
organizing session.
