The Militant Labor Forum Presents:
 
Robert F. Williams and
Self-Defense Against
Racist Violence
          
Robert F. Williams was president of the NAACP chapter in Monroe, North Carolina 
in the late 1950’s.  Under his leadership, the chapter recruited hundreds of 
members as it conducted an uncompromising fight against Jim Crow 
discrimination.  This included organizing Blacks to defend themselves, armed 
when necessary, from violent attacks by the Ku Klux Klan and other racist 
forces.
A defender of the Cuban Revolution, Williams was also a founder and spokesperson 
for the Fair Play for Cuba Committee in 1960.

la Violencia Racista
Robert F. Williams fue presidente del capítulo de la Asociación Nacional para el 
Avance de la Gente de Color (NAACP) en Monroe, Carolina del Norte a finales de 
1950.  Bajo su dirección el capítulo reclutó a cientos de miembros y libró una 
lucha intransigente contra la discriminación Jim Crow.  

Entre otras cosas organizaron a negros a defenderse, incluso con armas cuando
