Kwame Somburu was active in the mass movement against the Vietnam War and in
organizing the Freedom Now party in Harlem, NY. He was part of the
organizing effort for the major mass actions and conferences of the ‘60s. He
attended many of Malcolm
speeches and was present when he was assassinated. He was also featured on
the TV show “Firing Line <http://vimeo.com/18611069>” with William F.
Buckley Jr. He will speak about the rise of the mass movements and the
lessons for activists today as we organize to confront the U.S. assault
against the peoples of the Middle East, Central Asia, and right here at
