Program Assistant, Part-time

Grassroots International seeks an experienced individual to work as an
active member of its Program Team. The Program Assistant will provide
administrative and other support to the team.  The position is part-time
(20-24 hours per week) and will be based in Boston. 

 

Grassroots International works to create a just and sustainable world by
building alliances with progressive movements.  We provide grants to our
Global South partners and join them in advocating for social change. Our
primary focus is on land, water, and food as human rights and nourishing
the political struggle necessary to achieve these rights. 

 

Key responsibilities include: Receiving and logging grantee proposals,
grant letters, receipts, and reports and other documentation provided by
grantees; entering the above in our grants data base; preparing grants
disbursement requests; coordinating volunteer translators for
translation of proposals, reports and project documentation;
implementing Program Team administrative systems; documenting Program
Team and work group meetings; documenting all grant review  meetings;
maintaining and auditing grant files; responding to basic information
requests from fundraising and other Staff; participating in team
planning activities; and handling logistics related to Staff/Board
Program related work group meetings, site visits, and other activities.

 

Qualifications:

*	Excellent administrative skills, with grant administration
experience highly desirable
*	Fluency in either Spanish, Portuguese, Kreyol, Arabic, or French
desirable 
*	Demonstrated commitment to increasing global awareness and the
global justice mission of Grassroots International
*	Background in work on international issues especially rights to
land, water, and food highly desirable
*	Strong writing skills in English and command of MS Office
computer applications
*	Well organized, able to multi-task 
*	Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well in a team
*	Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant work experience

 

Compensation: Salary is high teens to low twenties depending on hours
and commensurate with experience. This is a part time position for 20-24
hours/week.
