Understanding the Middle East and South/Central Asia

The forum begins at 7 p.m. and will take place in B.U.’s Law School
Auditorium, with the reception to follow in the George Sherman Union. We are
grateful to Boston University’s Anti-War Coalition for co-sponsoring these
events with us.

You can reserve your seat at this
URL: http://afsc.org/event/chomsky-and-sarwar-days-hope-and-challenge-understanding-middle-east-and-southcentral-asia.

Noam Chomsky is among the world’s most influential political and social
critics; he has written prolifically and lectured widely about U.S. Middle East
policies, dynamics within the Middle East and the Central Asian War. Among his
most recent books is Gaza in Crisis.

Journalist Beena Sarwar is a leading Pakistani journalist and democracy, human
rights and peace advocate. She is an initiator of the Pakistani Campaign for
Democracy and a former Nieman Fellow. Beena will be coming to us directly from
an Afghan-Indian-Pakistani Trialogue in Berlin.

This cutting edge forum will double as a fundraiser for AFSC’s Peace &
Economic Security Program. Suggested donations for the forum are $10 a person,
$5 for students. The suggested contribution for the reception is $50. You can
reserve your place on line.

When: Thursday, April 14, 2011, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Where: Boston University Law Auditorium • 767 Commonwealth Ave. • followed
by reception at Sherman Union Backcourt • Boston

Looking forward to seeing you on 4/14 and to working together for peace, justice
and democracy,

Joseph Gerson, American Friends Service Committee
