Understanding the Middle East and South/Central Asia
------------------------------------------------------------

Noam Chomsky is among the world’s most influential political and social
critics; he has written prolifically and lectured widely about U.S. Middle East
policies, dynamics within the Middle East and the Central Asian War. Among his
most recent books is Gaza in Crisis.

Journalist Beena Sarwar is a leading Pakistani journalist and democracy, human
rights and peace advocate. She is an initiator of the Pakistani Campaign for
Democracy and a former Nieman Fellow. Beena will be coming to us directly from
an Afghan-Indian-Pakistani Trialogue in Berlin.


When: Thursday, April 14, 2011, 7:00 pm

Where: Boston University Law Auditorium • 767 Commonwealth Ave., Boston •
followed by reception at Sherman Union Backcourt 

This cutting edge forum will double as a fundraiser for the American Friends
Service Committee's Peace & Economic Security Program. Suggested donations for
the forum are $10 a person, $5 for students. The suggested contribution for the
