We in New York City had a great time dancing in the middle of Times
Square a few weeks ago as part of the We Divest Campaign. It was awesome
to know other activists in Denver, Boston & San Francisco were doing the
same dance and shared the same goal—for TIAA-CREF to divest from the
Israeli Occupation. Next week, on July 19th, it is over 20 cities that
will be taking part in a nationwide day of action targeting retirement
fund giant TIAA-CREF.

_*Join me, and hundreds of activists nationwide Tuesday, July 19th.*_

On Tuesday July 19th CREF shareholders will meet in Charlotte, NC.
What’s missing? A ballot shareholder proposal about the Israeli occupation.
_*
Join your local activists to tell CEO Roger Ferguson to divest from the
occupation!*_

TIAA-CREF censored their shareholder ballot and is fleeing NYC protests
by moving their annual meeting to Charlotte, North Carolina. Groups all
over the country will visit TIAA-CREF offices the day of the meeting to
tell them: you can run, but you can’t hide!
;
As we sang during the flashmob, we want TIAA-CREF to “Invest
responsibly/ So Palestine can be free.” We are calling for divestment
from corporations that profit from the Israeli occupation. I'm fortunate
to know activists that share the view that the global movement for
Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions is the most promising avenue toward a
just peace in Israel and Palestine—even as Israel passes new,
controversial anti-boycott legislation.

Please join hundreds of BDS activists*_

on July 19th as we tell TIAA-CREF: /you can run, but you can’t hide—not
from the movement for justice in Palestine/Israel!

In Solidarity,
Ayesha Hoda, We Divest from Israel's Occupation
_*P.S. Over 5000 of you have signed the open letter to Roger Ferguson,
but there's still time to do so here if you haven't yet. Thank you for
all the stands you take.*_
