Socialism 101: What It Is and Why We Need It
We didn't start the wars! We didn't wreck the economy! We won't pay with our
futures!
Join the Cambridge branch of the International Socialist Organization for a
forum and discussion on why socialism is back on the agenda.
Thursday, September 29 · 7:00pm - 9:00pm
YMCA, 820 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA (Central Square)

Three years after the onset of the 2008 recession, millions of Americans
are struggling just to make ends meet. Meanwhile, banks received trillions
of dollars in bailouts, billions are spent monthly on multiple wars, and big
corporations are making profits again. Yet, instead of ending the wars and
taxing the rich, politicians in Washington want to cut Social Security and
Medicare. From Wisconsin to Cairo, people have had enough and are prepared
to fight back. Join us for a discussion on capitalism, crisis, and the
socialist alternative.
Check out this article from our online newspaper if you'd like to read
something in preparation for the discussion:
