Reunión Organizativa para Ocupemos la Migra/ Occupy ICE

La reunión servirá para asegurarnos del éxito del evento el 3 de diciembre, ambos en el ámbito organizativo y político. Esta servirá para también responder varias preguntas que se han levantado sobre la naturaleza del evento, tales como:

¿Planeamos físicamente ocupar la migra como en Occupy San Diego o esto es un evento simbólico?
¿Habrá desobedencia civil?
¿Cómo aseguramos la seguridad para los inmigrantes indocumentados y compañeros con un record CORI?
¿Cuales son nuestras metas para el evento y para Ocupemos el Barrio? 

Aparte de responder a las preguntas sobre la naturaleza y el caracter del 3 de Dic. y de como esta encaja con nuestro proyecto a largo plazo, tendremosr un espacio para que los comites de trabajos y las organizaciones que invitamos tengan el espacio para dar reportes y contribuyan a la discusión.

Organizing meeting for Occupy ICE

When: Tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 1st
Where: NUBE headquarters, 10 Meridian St., East Boston
Time: 7pm.

The organizing meeting will help ensure the success of the Dec. 3rd event, both in the organizational and political aspect. The meeting will also address several questions that have been raised about the nature of the event:

Do we plan on physically occupying ICE like in Occupy San Diego or is our event symbolic?
Is there going to be Civil Disobedience?
How do we ensure a safe environment for undocumented immigrants and anyone with a CORI record?
What are our goals for this particular event and for Ocupemos el Barrio?

In addition to responding this questions, we will have time for our working groups to give us reportbacks on the work they have done and we will hear from ally organizations who will also give reports on their work for Dec. 3rd and the campaigns they are already working on.
