Dear Madam/Sir,

Matilda's Project is an
interactive theatre production for children, adults and families involving
story telling, performance and song about the experience of a young girl who
has two mums and who is challenged as she is asked to present a project at school
about family. Rather than finding out she is different she finds out that lots
of people's families are diverse and she grows in confidence through the
experience of sharing her story and hearing the stories of other kids in the

Matilda's Project which will
be performed at CERES Learning Centre, Lee St. Entrance, Brunswick East, from the 25th
to the 29th of January 2012, as part of Midsumma, promises to be a fun,
involving and inspiring experience for children and adults alike and to be a
perfect school-holidays afternoon activity in the beautiful surrounds of the
Merri Creek.

Written, acted, directed and produced by qualified primary
and high school teachers, the play aims to break through the stereotypes and
present a more balanced perspective of what constitutes a family.

the sharing of Australian books and personal stories, games, songs and art the
audience is treated to a light-hearted, funny, and inspiring experience that
promotes inclusion.

Matilda’s Project, created by Danny Gibbins, is directed by Yma Zammit Ross in association
with Joel Beasant's Platypus Theatre. This team worked
together on Beasant’s highly successful production of MILL BOYS in September

Matilda’s Project is
unlike any other event you will find in the Midsumma Festival. Innovative and
thought provoking, it will leave you smiling.

We'd love to know if you'd be interested in reviewing the play.
