Greetings!
Hold onto your hats because we're taking a whirlwind tour of some of the hot spots
around the world--places like Greece, Afghanistan, Iran, and the Middle East. Places
where trouble is brewing and where the United States has a stake in the future.
If things go bad, Americans will feel it at home, So what can we do to make certain
that things don't go bad? Should we insulate ourselves? Should we intervene?
If we do become "entangled," what approach should we take? Can we learn from past
experience?
Join us for our mini-conference on Global Engagement on February 13 to talk about
these questions. And take some time to reflecton the way Americans responded to
a previous era of crisis in the 1960s. The songwriter Phil Ochs captured the spirit
of that time in moving lyrics and legendary performances; get a copyof the complete

Thursday

reviews the research on preventing its onset. Small challenges the widely held
notion that Alzheimer's is not preventable and discusses a variety of ways to
keep the brain healthy -- there's more to it than a crossword puzzle a day!
