On Monday, March 19, the Coolidge Corner Theatre's Science on Screen series
presents Ma Vie en Rose (My Life in Pink) with guest speaker Norman Spack,
MD.  Director Alain Berliner's acclaimed feature film tells the story of
Ludovic, a seven-year-old boy who is convinced he is meant to be a girl.  He
likes to wear girl's clothing, refuses to let his mother cut his hair, and
talks of marrying his neighbor's son.  A sensitive and hopeful child, he
can't understand why his heartfelt aspirations ignite intense reactions from
the community.  Dr. Norman Spack, an endocrinologist and co-founder of the
Gender Management Service Clinic at Children's Hospital Boston, is one of
the world's leading experts on gender variance and transgenderism in
children, adolescents, and young people.  He will introduce the film at 7:00
