Friends -

The Canadian tar sands are North America's largest carbon bomb, and a
grave threat to water supplies across the continent. Our movement to
stop the tar sands is growing, but so is the threat the project poses --
largely because the Canadian government continues to put the profits of
the oil industry above the well being of just about everyone else.

Our fight against the Keystone XL pipeline is one of the first times
that the Canadian government and their allies in the oil industry have
been thwarted in their relentless attempt to expand the tar sands. Now
we need to send them a reminder that this fight isn't just about one
pipeline -- it's about the whole disastrous tar sands enterprise.

*This Wednesday people across America are gathering at Canadian
consulates for candlelight vigils calling for an end to tar sands
development. There's a vigil in Boston - can you be there tomorrow? *

*Click here to RSVP for the vigil on Facebook
<http://act.350.org/go/1177?akid=1648.663021.2cqjyi&t=1>*

Here are all the details:

*What*: Candlelight Vigil Against the Tar Sands

*When*: Wednesday March 7th, 7 PM

*Where*: Consulate General of Canada, Three Copley Place, Boston, MA 02116

Many dedicated organizers within Canada are working hard against the tar
sands, and international actions like this are critical to supporting
their work. This action will help us continue the momentum we built
during the campaign against Keystone to help shut down the tar sands for
good. *Let's show the Canadian government that we’re not going away.*

I'm really looking forward to the event in New York, where I'll be
tomorrow evening, and I hope you will be able to stand with us in Boston.

-Duncan
