The Militant Labor
Forum presents:

Fukushima One Year Later:
 Nuclear Panic vs. Real Disaster
Fukushima: Cuál fue el veradero
desastre

   March 11 marked
the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami that killed 20,000
people along Japan’s coastline.

   This was above all
a disaster of capitalism.  None of these
people had to die.  Capitalist property
relations in Japan, as the world over, means that workers and others must live
in low-lying coastal or river basin areas most vulnerable to flooding and other
damage.

  The scope of this
disaster was overshadowed by the panic over the “nuclear disaster” at the
Fukushima power plant, which was damaged by the tsunami. Yet one year later,
not a single person has died from radiation.

   Come to a
discussion of why working people need to champion the expansion and extension
of electrification and industrialization worldwide and not join the hue and cry
from opponents of nuclear power that has overshadowed the real colossal social
disaster wrought by capitalism.
