Mental Health First Aid Certification
What: MHFA is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This two-day training introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and discusses common treatments.
Who: Professionals in direct service positions, such as social workers, case-managers, nurses, police, first responders, and educators. Individuals seeking to learn more about how to provide support to a colleague, friend, or family member experiencing a mental illness or mental health crisis. Community groups looking to learn more about mental health and mental illness.
Why: Provides the skills to manage mental health crisis and promote mental health literacy.
