Saturday, August 25
4pm
meet at Alewife Station on the Red Line (passenger pick-up area)

The Silver Maple Forest, an urban forest adjacent to Alewife Reservation in
Cambridge, is slated to be cut down to make way for housing development.

This walk will introduce people to the Reservation and Silver Maple Forest
so they can understand the importance of this urban wilderness and join
activists and concerned citizens working to preserve it.

In this walk we will learn to identify some of the wild plant foods and
medicines found here.

Leading the walk is Jules Kobek, co-founder of DIO (Do-It-Ourselves)
Skillshare and knowledgeable forager.
call 617-492-2340 for more info about walk

Heavy rain cancels (call if not sure)
Be prepared for rough ground and possibly mud, mosquitos, and ticks (I
strongly recommend wearing long pants tucked into socks and long sleeves)
