*Discover Roxbury Rides Again*

Join us for two rides on the streets of Roxbury...


*Saturday, August 11*

*The Endurance Ride*

*10 am -12 noon*


**If you didn't have time to go on the previous rides with Discover
Roxbury, this is the one you want. Don't think of this as a tour, it's more
of an adventure. On this ride we'll bike to the top Roxbury's highest
peaks, along some of its major roads, and past historic monuments. Stops
will be limited to give us more riding time to cover as much of the
neighborhood as possible.

Radical Roxbury Bike Tour* [image: radical bike tour] *  **
10am -12 noon*

We'll begin at Roxbury Crossing with the relatively well-known protests
against the construction of I-95 along the Southwest Corridor. From there
our attention will focus on mid-20th century revolutionary leaders Martin
Luther King, Jr and Malcolm X. After passing the former locations of the
Black Panthers and the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC),
we'll end with an overview of the 1967 and 1968 riots in Grove Hall and the
police staging grounds in Franklin Park. Tie dyed t-shirt and and Afro pic
are optional. *
