Subject: Queer Wave at Midway this week (tell all your friends!)
To:
Dear friends,
I'm writing to tell you about an exciting & fun event I organized for The
Theater Offensive. This Wednesday, 8pm at Midway Cafe (Jamaica Plain), is
our first Queer Wave benefit show. We've got an amazing lineup, featuring
queer gypsy folk-punk band Speaker for the
Dead<http://speakerforthedead.bandcamp.com/>,
the amazing singer-songwriter/activist Evan Greer<http://www.evangreer.org/>,
and True Colors alum Melissa Li & the Barely
Theirs<http://mlbtmusic.tumblr.com/>.
There will also be spoken word by our own Kaamila Mohamed, as well as local
poets Kemi Alabi & Scott Krave. You can check out the artists on our
Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/382747365125874/.
This is a great opportunity to connect with LGBTQ & allied community
members in a fun setting, enjoy fabulous music and poetry by local artists,
and support the amazing mission of The Theater Offensive: to form and
present the diverse realities of queer lives in art so bold it breaks
through personal isolation and political orthodoxy to help build an honest,
progressive community. To learn more about TTO, visit our website:
www.thetheateroffensive.org
The show is 21+, $10, with all proceeds to benefit TTO. Definitely feel
free to invite all your allies & music lovers! I'm incredibly excited to
connect with TTO supporters in this setting and to enjoy a rad night of
local music :) I hope you'll be able to make it. Let me know if you have
any questions.
Best,
--
