Cambridge Below

No matter what the outcome of the election, we know that we have lots of
work to do. Even the "best" politicians can only do so much: we need to
build a bold citizens' movement to effectively deal with our economic,
ecological, and political challenges.

That’s part of why people have been forming small groups like Resilience
Circles and social action affinity groups around the country.

Affinity groups are small groups of 10 - 20 people who support each other
and take social action together. They're a grea
t way to rebuild our skills of mutuality, consensus-building,
story-sharing, and real listening. They have formed an essential piece of
the architecture of social movements built on solidarity and relatedness,
such as the labor, civil rights, and women's movements.

Join us on November 8 to hear inspiring stories from past and current
affinity group members and tips on how to start your own. Bring a friend so
you can brainstorm together about starting a group! We'll provide stories,
materials, tips, and lots of support to help you get started.

If you can't make it on the 8th, there will be another Affinity Group
Meet-Up on November 20 at 7pm at the Democracy Center, 45 Mt. Auburn
Street, Cambridge.

"Our goal is a society that prioritizes the needs of all before the profits
of the few." passed by Occupy Boston General Assembly 11/29/11
