Dear All,

The Industrial Workers of the World will hold our monthly meeting at the Boston
Anarchist Bookfair <http://bostonanarchistbookfair.org/>, this Sunday
November 11. You're invited to check out the IWW!

auditorium), at Simmons College, 300
the Fenway, starting at 2:30 p.m.

The IWW is a proudly anti-capitalist union for all workers. Our local
branch<http://iwwboston.org/>has been growing rapidly over the past
few years and is now the seventh
largest section of our international organization. We do active solidarity
campaigns for our neighbors in struggle, union and non-union. We've
supported Verizon strikers, unorganized restaurant workers, tenants
fighting to stay in their homes, and MFA security guards under attack, just
to name few. Our members are helping plan the Bookfair, and are acting as
catalysts in local union drives. We reject rape culture and stand up for
activists like Johany

sexually harassed at Harvard and then threatened with termination for
demanding equal treatment on the job (next action for Johany: rally and

Come see local activist and author Jake Carman present his new book, which
will be released on December 1st.

Nine Years of Anarchist Agitation: The History of the Boston
Anti-Authoritarian Movement (2001-2010) And Other Essays. In the wake of
the September 11, 2001 attacks, and in the midst of the subsequent
nationalist fervor, Boston radicals came together to form the Boston
Anarchists Against Militarism (BAAM) Coalition. Through interviews and an
extensive study of BAAM’s public statements, activities, and publications,
this history explores the evolution of BAAM from an anti-war coalition
into a general union of Boston anarchists. The lessons of the past decade
are useful to today’s generation of activists as they grapple with the
questions of political organization and activity in the struggle against
global capitalism.
