Bhopal Gas disaster - 28th anniversary

On the night of December 2nd, 1984, 27 tons of toxic gas escaped from the
Union Carbide pesticide factory in Bhopal, India. 8,000 people died within
the next 72 hours. Thousands more were poisoned and blinded. 25,000 have
died to date, and at least 150,000 people, including children born to
parents who survived the disaster, suffer from chronic, debilitating,
exposure-related illnesses. 347 tons of hazardous waste still lie exposed
at the site, and Bhopal’s people drink water laced with toxins.
In memory o
 f the gas disaster and the ongoing tragedy in Bhopal, the Boston chapter
of the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal (ICJB) will be holding
a die-in at Boston University, Boston Commons, MIT, Tufts, and Harvard
University. Be there. Talk to volunteers, find out more, share ideas, act
dead, sign a petition, chant slogans, and help to change things for the
better.

What: A die-in, organized by ICJB (Boston). Volunteers will take turns to
lie down, covered in white shrouds, representing those who have died in
Bhopal. There will be also be chanting of slogans and handing out of
information. The event will culminate in front of the Harvard Science
Center with a candle light vigil
