Meanwhile, despite the severe economic crisis, El Salvador, one of the
poorest countries in the Western hemisphere has brought regular public
health and primary care services to many of the poorest areas of the
country for the first time.
Members of CISPES medical brigade?the first of its kind to work in the
new rural clinic system?will report on the changes ushered in by the
election of the leftist FMLN to the presidency for the first time in
2009. They will also discuss the current political situation leading
up to the 2014 presidential election and the role that US intervention
