The following events will take place at THE CENTER FOR MARXIST
EDUCATION (CME) LOCATED AT 550 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE, 2ND FLOOR, IN
CAMBRIDGE NEAR THE CENTAL SQUARE MBTA STATION ON THE RED LINE
Sunday, January 13 @ 6 p.m.
"Welcome to North Korea"
The winner of the 2001 International Emmy award for Best Documentary.
Dutch filmmaker Peter Tetteroo and his associate Raymond Feddema
spent a week in and around the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. The
narrators commentary has some annoying aspects by itself. Viewers
should rely on their own sense of reason and analysis in judging a
society that is clearly trying to find its way in a largely hostile
international
arena.
English narration, 2001, 50 minutes
Upcoming event:
Saturday January 19, 3-5 p.m.
Special Event: A report from China
The future of humanity will be written in China. There is reason for
cautious optimism, but things can still go either way.
Come hear CME'S Wadi'h Halabi report on a recent 3-week visit to
China, which included participation in a symposium in Beijing on "The
Crisis of Capitalism and the Future of World Socialism". He also
discussed labor union tasks, and expanding education in Marxism,
domestically and internationally, and making it more effective.
