Join UNAC for an educational conference call on the political crisis and
U.S. military threat to North Korea.  Antiwar activists and organizers need
a much deeper understanding of the dangerous crisis unfolding in Korea
today.

The call will be this Thursday, 4/18 at 9 PM (EST).  Call in number is

We will discuss:

Is the U.S. strategy "regime change"?

Is nuclear war threatened? 

Understanding North Korea's response

Understanding the impact of decades of sanctions and a continued state of
war on DPRK

What is the scale of the U.S. mobilization?

How is China part of the larger picture? 

There will be short presentation by two Korea experts followed by
discussion.

2 Korean presenters will be Hyun Lee and Betsy Yoon. Greg Elich will join
the discussion as a resource person.

Hyun Lee is a member of Nodutdol for Korean Community Development as well as
the National Campaign to End the Korean War.  She is part of the Working
Group for Peace and Demilitarization in Asia and the Pacific, and
co-produces Asia Pacific Forum, a weekly radio show on culture and politics
of Asia and the Asian diaspora. 

Betsy Yoon is a Nodutdol member and has been to North Korea twice. This
summer, she is leading a delegation of Korean Americans to visit North Korea
for two weeks. 

Gregory Elich is on the board of directors of the  Research Institute, and
on the advisory boards of the Korea Policy Institute and the U.S. chapter of
the Korea Truth Commission. He is the author of the book Strange Liberators:
Militarism, Mayhem, and the Pursuit of Profit.
