A local protest of Bradley's prolonged ordeal will be held at the time
of the usual weekly Saturday peace vigil,

Sat. Feb. 23rd 1pm, at Park Street;

Bob Bowes has suggested a focus on the denial of Constitutional rights
(seen not just in this case, but throughout the "Homeland").

Veterans for Peace VFP (national) is also planning other actions for
Feb23 and the 100 days that follow, with VFP chapters from around the
country "amassing" at Fort Meade,MD, on June 1: the day Manning's
much-delayed court-martial is currently scheduled to begin. FYI: Peace

> A Bradley Manning supporter is someone who believes in exposing war
> crimes, in international justice, in people's right to know what the

> Bradley Manning supporters come from all over the United States and
> the world. They come from small towns, big cities, and everything
> in-between.*And throughout the history of the world, it has taken
> people such as these to hold the government and the military accountable.*
>
> The military's denial of Bradley Manning's rights to due process is
> thoroughly unAmerican.*Outrageously, Bradley was subjected to 11
> months of solitary confinement, 1000 days of prison without trial,*and
> is now effectively being denied the ability to make a whistle-blower
> defense during the guilt phase of his trial.
>
> Thanks to protests organized by Bradley Manning's supporters, he was
> removed from solitary isolation at the Quantico marine brig in
> February of 2011. Bradley Manning, as well as his attorney David
> Coombs, has thanked supporters for these efforts.*It's now up to us to
> organize ourselves again against military authorities who would
> sentence Bradley to life behind bars.*

>
> /A little known fact about Valentine's Day is that it originated not
> as a romantic holiday, but as a way to honor a crusader for social

> Protests are being organized for February 23rd. Bradley Manning has

> Saint Valentine was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers

>
> Bradley said that he wanted people to know the truth,*"because without
> information, you cannot make informed decisions as a public."*He hoped
> to promote "discussion, debates and reforms." During a public

>
>
> I hope that someday soon, Brad can go to college. I hope that
> someday soon, he can, in fact, go into public service. But I am
> confident, as I stand here today, that Brad doesn’t have to worry
> about making a difference in this world– he has made a difference.
