Join us for a discussion and screening with Oliver Stone and Peter
Kuznick of their Showtime TV series and book: The Untold History of the
United States. How much of our real history has been left out of our
education and why? What Stone and Kuznick uncover challenges the
United States’ self-conception as an “exceptional” nation.

Oliver Stone is a three-time Academy Award winning filmmaker, writer of
Scarface and Evita, and director of such notable films as Platoon, JFK, W.,
Born on the Fourth of July and Natural Born Killers. American University
Professor Peter Kuznick is the director of the Nuclear Studies Institute.

Co-sponsored by the Tisch College Distinguished Speakers Series, Dean’s
Office, Arts and Sciences, Toupin-Bolwell Fund, Sociology Department,
Peace and Justice Studies, Political Science Department, International
Relations Program, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Studies in Race,
Colonialism, and Diaspora, Film Production Group, and History Department.
