Personal Budgets: From Debt to Financial Freedom
Are you trying to save, but your account never grows? Does the idea of
creating a budget make you break out in a sweat? Whether you’re trying to
pay off debt or save for a down payment, this session will give you the
tools to help you define and achieve your goals. Determine whether you are
spending on what is most important to you in life right now. Learn how to
estimate monthly income and expenses, and creative ways to reduce your
spending. Become familiar with retirement account acronyms so you can plan
for your financial freedom. “Discipline is choosing between what you want
now and what you want most.” - Benny Lewis

Julie Morgenlender consults with individuals and couples to get their
financial house in order so that they can achieve their goals. She worked
as the Director of Operations for a small nonprofit, learning basic
bookkeeping on the fly before enrolling in accounting classes and taking on
all bookkeeping and accounting for the organization. She thrived on
translating complicated accounting principles into everyday language for
the non-accountants in the room, and now enjoys doing the same with
personal finance.
